I Can Work On ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform.

2. Information We Collect

• Personal information (name, email, phone number)
• Professional information (work history, skills, certifications)
• Payment information (processed securely through our payment partners)
• Usage data and analytics
• Location data (when you grant permission)
• Google Calendar free/busy information (only if you choose to connect Google Calendar)

2.1 Location Data

With your explicit consent, we may collect and process your location information to:

• Match you with nearby job opportunities
• Provide location-based job recommendations
• Enable location-based features and services
• Improve our job matching algorithms
• Ensure compliance with local employment regulations

You can control location permissions through your device settings and can revoke access at any time. We only collect location data when you actively use location-based features.

2.2 Google Calendar

If you are a worker and optionally connect your Google account from the Calendar page, we request free/busy-only Google Calendar access (calendar.freebusy) so we can see when you are busy. This permission does not let us see event details.

• What we read: free/busy time ranges on your primary calendar (when you are busy vs free).
• What we do not read or store: event titles, descriptions, attendees, location details, or email contents.
• How we use it: we compare busy times to the usual hours you set on I Can Work On and mark overlapping days as unavailable so employers do not book you when you are already busy.
• Storage: we store only the resulting availability flags (free / busy / unavailable days) on our servers, not your full Google Calendar.
• Automatic sync: to keep your calendar current, we store an encrypted Google refresh token and check your free/busy times about every 3 hours. Disconnect on your profile, or remove I Can Work On at myaccount.google.com/permissions, and syncing stops. We do not sell calendar data.
• Your control: connecting is optional. You can refuse, skip, or disconnect later by removing I Can Work On access in your Google Account permissions, and by clearing busy sync on your Calendar page.

I Can Work On’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain our service

• To improve our platform
• To comply with legal obligations
• To provide location-based job matching and recommendations
• To optimize your job search experience based on your location
• To sync optional Google Calendar busy times into your work availability calendar

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

• Service providers who assist in our operations
• Legal authorities when required by law
• Other users as part of the job matching process (for example, that you are free or unavailable on a given day, not your Google event details)

We do not share your Google Calendar event contents with employers or other third parties.

Mobile / SMS: We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Transactional texts (team invites and shift confirmation requests) may be sent through our SMS provider solely to deliver those messages. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
